Admin Load | Practice Makes Permanent

I see a lot of people that will administratively load their weapon when they step out on a shooting range. The weapon is usually down by the shooter’s side and they will stuff a magazine into the magazine well, send the bolt home and then bring the weapon up to the low ready or high ready. After a few warm up shots the shooter will then work on magazine changes. In which the shooter would bring their weapon in close to their body (their workspace) and then conduct a proper magazine change.

I often wonder why you would ever administratively load your firearm and not conduct at least half of a tactical magazine change every time you loaded your weapon. Muscle memory is the key to success and you gain that by practice. The shooter may have missed out on hundreds of magazine change repetitions by administratively loading your weapon. Don’t waste the practice time by administratively loading your weapon. Bring your weapon into you work space every time and optimize your training and skillset especially the first time you load your weapon when you step out on a range.
